Description: Making the switch from the use of needles to cannulas can be an intimidating transition. This class is designed for novice injectors as well as experienced specialists who aren’t familiar with the use of a cannula or perhaps use for certain areas and are interested in learning more. Learning curves can be tough, make you nervous or have unexpected “bumps” in the road. The benefits of using cannulas far outweigh the risk with safer, more accurate, and minimal bruising outcomes. So take the plunge! This highly interactive class will be designed specifically for the nurse who has to “go it alone” without the benefit of an assistant! We will be using hands-on skin simulators, rationale for cannula use and size, correct plane of injection, and a theoretical reduction in bruising. The risk of adverse events specific to cannula use will also be discussed. Let’s keep you state of the art and safe!
